Introduction and Practice Profile
Satoko is a partner at Yodoyabashi & Yamagami LPC, whose practice focuses on
business restructuring and insolvency, as well as start-up and growth-stage
company support, including corporate governance and mergers and
acquisitions. She advises clients on a wide range of legal issues across the
corporate lifecycle.
Her practice is characterized by a life-cycle approach to legal services,
supporting businesses from their early-stage formation and growth through
restructuring, turnaround, and succession. In addition to corporate advisory
work, she is experienced in handling complex litigation and disputes
enabling her to respond flexibly to diverse client needs.
Having spent part of her childhood in Singapore, she has developed a strong
interest in cross-border transactions and working with clients from diverse
cultural and international backgrounds. She is actively involved in matters
with international elements and brings a global perspective to her
practice.
Satoko graduated from the University of Osaka (LL.B.) and completed J.D. at
the Osaka University Graduate School of Law. She was admitted to the Osaka
Bar in 2019. During her studies and early career, she also gained
international experience through an exchange program at the University of
California, Santa Barbara, and professional work in New York.
In addition to her legal practice, she serves as a part-time lecturer,
teaching negotiation and contract practice at the University of Osaka. She
is also involved in public and professional activities, including her role
as Coordinator of the SME Revitalization Support Council of Osaka
Prefecture, where she contributes to regional business revitalization
efforts. She also serves as a Specially Appointed Researcher at Osaka
University, contributing to industry-academia collaboration initiatives and
supporting the legal aspects of joint research and innovation.
