Introduction and Practice Profile
Jason began his legal career at the Hong Kong Bar and was later admitted to the New York Bar before joining Yodoyabashi & Yamagami LPC as foreign counsel.
With extensive experience in international commercial arbitration and cross-border disputes—particularly between Hong Kong and Japan—Jason is committed to strengthening the firm’s dispute resolution and arbitration practice. He is frequently instructed to provide legal opinions on Hong Kong law to Japanese clients and attorneys, particularly in cases involving cross-border elements with Japan. He has also been engaged to deliver legal advice and expert opinions for use in foreign jurisdictions, including proceedings in Taiwanese and Japanese courts.
Jason is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and serves as a part-time lecturer at Doshisha University in Kyoto, where he teaches international law, international organizations, and international human rights law. In addition to his practice and as an active academic writer, he continues to explore the intersection of diplomacy and public international law.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Political Science and International Studies from Case Western Reserve University (U.S.), a Juris Doctor and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Laws from Waseda University (Japan).
